The AI CON 2019 conference was held at the Bosch Research Campus in Renningen, Germany on 29th October 2019. DELTA was represented by Dr Stelios Krinidis from CERTH at this key AI conference that brought together 300 AI experts from industry and academia. The conference was organised jointly by the Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence (BCAI) and the Cyber Valley research alliance.
Stelios Krinidis presented a paper and a poster entitled EMD and Gradient Boosting Regression for NILM at Residential Houses authored by CERTH partners Christos Timplalexis, Stelios Krinidis, Dimosthenis Ioannidis and Dimitrios Tzovaras. You can access both the paper and the poster here: https://www.delta-h2020.eu/publications/
Dr Krinidis presented a novel appliance load estimation in a non-intrusive way. He explained that the proposed algorithm includes signal processing techniques such as filtering and Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) which is used to decompose random noise from the power consumption data collected from the smart meter. Lag features that capture the variance of the data across time are utilized. Experimental results which showcase the effectiveness of the suggested method are also presented.
40 posters were showcased during the AI CON poster session.
